Within Learn To Love. Both characters are defined by a singular, traumatic loss early in life.
This has caused them to build emotional walls.
Cains avoidant. Cains deals with loss by refusing to let people close. He finds comfort in his suffering.
Maras response. She deals with loss through apathy and distrust . She is trying to convince herself that she feels nothing, but her "over analyzing" shows she is actually overwhelmed by feelings.
They eventually become the one place the other person feels safe.
