Welcome, fellow writers!
I host monthly contests as a way to support the writing community. All are welcome to participate no matter what stage of your writing journey you are on. These contests take place across multiple platforms (Neobook, Booksie, Wattpad, and Underground Bookshelf). Winners are invited to have their work featured on Underground Bookshelf. You can learn more about UB at
https://www.underground-bookshelf.com/
(As of writing this, the Neobook website and app have been down for several weeks, so it is best to submit through Underground Bookshelf, Wattpad, or Booksie.)
If you are a winner of one of the monthly contests, please make sure I have your bio, the name you would like to be credited under, pronouns, and content warnings (if applicable). This will help me when I go to feature your piece on Underground Bookshelf.
Please visit the chapter dedicated to the month/prompt you are submitting to for rules and deadlines. Depending on the prompt, the contest may be open to poetry, short stories, flash/microfiction, first chapters, excerpts, short memoirs, or a combination of several. Please also refrain from submitting fanfiction (for copyright reasons) and work containing egregious violence or sex (I'm not set up for age restrictions on Underground Bookshelf).
To submit your work, drop the link and title in the comment section of the contest/chapter you are participating in. If you have any trouble doing this (sometimes Wattpad gets a little glitchy), you can email these to me at contact.undergroundbookshelf@gmail.com.
Thank you so much for submitting your work to these contests! I always look forward to reading submissions. I can't wait to read your work!

𝐁𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐃 𝐓𝐈𝐄𝐒 - 𝐈𝐒𝐀𝐁𝐄𝐋𝐋𝐀 𝐕𝐈𝐓𝐀𝐋𝐄
Fourteen years ago, the Vitale family lost everything when a fire took their mother and their baby sister, Isabella. Or at least, that's what they were told. While her six brothers grew up believing she was dead, Isabella survived, only to be left in an orphanage with no memories of her family and nothing but a mysterious necklace around her neck. The orphanage was a traumatic place for her, what would her brothers think when they find out all the things she has went through in there. She was only fourteen years old. She has no idea that the family she has spent her entire life wishing for is still out there, and when that necklace is finally recognized, six brothers are forced to question everything they've ever believed. Isabella was never dead. She was simply lost. And finding her might uncover secrets that were meant to stay buried. ...

Ms. Sinclair's Secret
| teacher x student | wxw | slow burn | When 19-year-old Lena James enters English Literature class, she expects nothing special. Instead, she meets Ms. Sinclair her cold, sharp-tongued British literature teacher. Elegant, cutting, and unbearably superior. From the very first lesson, the 34-year-old woman seems to take pleasure in dismantling Lena's every opinion with cruel precision. Lena hates her. She hates the condescending red marks on her essays, the raised eyebrow that makes her feel small, and the way Ms. Sinclair lingers in her thoughts long after class ends. But hate this intense has a way of twisting into something far more dangerous. With a strict 15-year age gap and an unbreakable teacher-student boundary, their slow-burning tension threatens to break every rule both in literature and in real life. Some lessons aren't taught kindly. And some hatreds taste too much like desire. "Ms. Sinclair's Secret"

Envy, Part I
Olivia's estranged father is dead. It's time for her to move back to Las Vegas to be with her twin and five older half-brothers... but they don't want her. Just like her mother and stepfather. ~~~ The patriarch of the D'Angelo crime family is dead. His eldest son and heir, Donatello D'Angelo may control a third of Las Vegas, but his family is falling apart. Second son Dante D'Angelo does nothing more than what Donatello tells him. His next brother Ares might be a psychopath. Irish twins Salvatore and Leone are becoming increasingly more codependent. His youngest brother Romeo is acting out more than ever before. Then there's Olivia. His father may have wanted nothing to do with his only daughter, but Donatello is determined to take care of her the same way he's taken care of his brothers since he was a teenager. Only, he underestimated how much hatred their father left in his brothers' hearts. If his brothers have their way, Olivia will never be a true D'Angelo. ~~~ Past / Current Top Rankings: #1 in adorable #1 in mafiaprincess #1 in babysister #1 in half-siblings #1 in overprotective #1 in disassociation #1 in neglected #1 in brokenfamily #1 in babyofthefamily #1 in overprotectivebrothers #1 in littlesister #2 in onlygirl #3 in olderbrother #3 in olderbrothers House of Sins: Envy, Part I © 2026 Dawnie888.
