Midnight One Shots: A Byler Story

«"Wait, Did that really happen?" my heart pounds after Mike's words, and I look at my reflection in the bathroom mirror "It can't be" I shake my head in denial "Mike's just playing his role, nothing else. It's not Mike who's flirting with ME. It's his character, flirting with an NPC. Nothing to overthink here" I convince myself as I slightly wet my hair. »

Will's been having trouble sleeping since they came back to Hawkins, he's constantly feeling like Vecna might still be out there and the fear overcomes him specially during night time. To ease Will's mind, Mike offers him a solution: Play DnD during night time to distract him while they're on summer vacation. God knows they don't actually have anything else to do with all of Hawkins in quarantine.
Since the rest of the party wouldn't be able to join them, they decide they'll have to play alone, just like they used to when they were kids.
Will, as the Dungeon Master and Mike, as the Hero of a series of One Shots Will wrote back in California.
These One-Shots will give them a chance to not only reconnect but maybe develop something deeper using their characters as shields, after all, it's not like they can actually express some feelings they have towards each other freely.

This is a fanfic placed within the eighteen months of timejump in between S4 and S5 of Stranger Things.

Also, the DnD rules I will be using in this fanfic are the rules of Advanced Dungeons & Dragons 2e which is the one they most likely would've been playing in 86' anyway you don't need to know D&D rules or mechanics to understand anything. This will be mostly narrative and roleplaying focused instead of mechanics and combat focused.
