The Chosen (Hyunchan)

Once every century, a child born into a strong, faithful, and humble home is allowed to become a guardian angel for any child in the world. It was an easier way to send such peers to mortals, giving them a chance to feel what it's like to be a celestial body. It went on for faithful days and nothing bad happened for 30 centuries. But then it had consequences... horrible ones too.

This power from the heavens took a dark turn as it turns out that no matter your background, you'll be forced to grow wings and serve as the temporary guardian angel until you can't anymore. You'll bleed, infect your veins with the overwhelming force of energy then you'll drop and rot faster than any carcasses. There have been reports in history books where people literally set themselves on fire because the power in their veins was too much to bear. Some drowned themselves. Some turned to cannibalism because of their sudden lust for outrageous acts. Some died right after they got their wings. Horrible isn't it?

Modern reports have said that the usual younger chosen ones always end up dying a few hours later because the power they hold is too strong. It overwhelms their body and their ability to function naturally. Bang Chan, however, didn't want to get involved in this situation because he felt as if he were a dirty being to be picked as one. He'd wished death on some people, beaten the living hell out of them, and cursed a lot. He wasn't really quick-tempered. He was afraid of being used. Hence, he avoided it entirely until one unfaithful day when the higher-ups thought it was a good idea- funny enough-to tug the wings out of his back like it was normal.

The process was painful and it made him feel ugly even when they shined as bright as the lights from the galaxies.

Conflicted, he hid away, avoided school often and only his friends and family knew about his situation. Will he survive as the guardian, or will he just die like the other pile of unfortunate humans?
