Felix Edevane bullied her long before he touched her.

From childhood, he flaunted his status, using fear and power to keep Ana in her place. When he realized she loved him, he used that too.. taking her into his bed at night while denying her in daylight.

As a result, certain backstories, particularly those surrounding Ana's origins and her absence from the Count's household, have been moved to the epilogue rather than explored in detail within the main chapters.

What remains is a story of survival, consequence, and growth-one that acknowledges the past without allowing it to define the future.
