"The Eden Files"

Journal Entry 01:

"It's been over two hundred years since Earth set itself on fire for The Great Cleansing. The fires raged so ferociously it caused nuclear power plants to explode all over the planet, soaking it in deadly radiation. Many died, few survived. We survivors deemed themselves worthy of survival, better than those who were left to become nothing more than ashes on top of ashes.

We who survived migrated to other planets, first modifying our DNA, then over time adapting to our new homes.

But we always kept hope to return back to Earth. The leading families of each planet know this, and we tested gene mutation and other...questionable... methods to test the world to see if we could return. Thus far all tests have given negative feedback.

Year 3045 conclusion - Earth is still not habitable for the human race. Next test to be conducted in five years."

At least that's what they thought...

Persistence

4 parts Ongoing

When an experimental bioweapon called the Cascade is deployed against an enemy destroyer, the ship goes silent without a single explosion. Command calls it a success and sends in a recon team to confirm there are no survivors. They are wrong. What the marines find is not victory, but a war crime. The weapon did not kill its targets. It transformed them, leaving conscious bodies trapped in reshaped flesh that refuses to die. As military leadership moves to bury the evidence and deploy the weapon again, combat journalist Ralamander Vashish is forced into a classified operation where truth itself becomes a threat. When biological immortality begins to spread beyond the battlefield, the war changes. Orders collapse, systems fail, and the line between weapon and witness disappears. PERSISTENCE is a military science fiction thriller about secret weapons, moral collapse, and what happens when death is no longer guaranteed.
