What the Enemy Could Not Take

The mission was supposed to be routine.
Clear the skies. Secure the coast. Come home.

They never see the trap until it closes.

In the chaos of fire and steel, Hiccup is separated from the others, dragged from the sky before Toothless can reach him. Viggo Grimborn does not kill him. He does something far worse.

Hiccup vanishes.

No body. No signal. Only scorched ground and the echo of wings beating too late.

Toothless rages against the empty sky.
Astrid refuses to believe in silence.

Somewhere far from Berk, a strategist smiles.
And the boy who knows dragons better than anyone is about to learn what happens when knowledge becomes a curse.

The sky closes.
The story does not.

- it is set during RTTE
- Hiccup and Astrid are already a couple
- I tried to make it as canon as possible but bare with me for English is not my first language and I might confuse some things :(
