In a broken society, a corrupt government rules, depriving its citizens of electricity and once common technology, imposing high taxes that plunge the nation into mass poverty, and slowly begin to whittle down the remainder of humanity.
Underneath the nation's capital, scientists perform experiments unbeknownst to the public. Hoping to create the first bionic human weapon, officials abduct thirty children, robbing parents around the country of their only happiness. Among the thirty are twins Sage and Christopher Carter, whom are separated on arrival.
Five years after her capture and the tortuous tests begin, Sage becomes desperate to escape the Chamber. Believing her brother dead, she plans to flee the day before her "graduation" but comes face to face with Aaron, an assassin belonging to what he calls the Legion. Seeing an opportunity in his outstretched hand, Sage follows, hoping to find light in this dark world.

You become known as "Shade", a mysterious cloaked criminal known for your stealth and strength. You took pride in your reputation, and the best part was, nobody knew anything about you. From your face down to you're gender, it was all concealed. It was all cloaked. But all this changed once they found you. They took you in, capturing you to mold you into a soldier fighting for the survey corps. You despised the survey corps at first. After all, they stole you from your home. The Raven Haired Stranger. (Levi x Reader) *Lemon*
This is the first time I've written a story like this, however I feel that I should explain some plot points since I did try to stick as close to the anime canon as possible but there are a few things I'd like to clear up first. This story starts at the fall of Wall Maria from your perspective as a young girl who lived in the Shiganshina district, I'll leave the age unspecified if I can but at the end she will definitely be over 18 years old. Then I will go into a time skip after developing the relationship between the reader and Levi as he helps the reader through their depression, I just wanted to get some background into the story first since it's important to how the reader ends up meeting Levi. Another thing I wanted to point out is that I know that the scouts didn't live in the abandoned castle until after they got Eren in the Survey Corps however I set the story there the majority of the time since I have no clue where they lived before and this is my story so I'll do what I want XD. I'm going to write for a female reader since it should be easier for me to write for this story that way, but I plan on doing more gender neutral stories in the future if this goes over well. This will only be rated 18+ near the end (Like literally only in the last chapter) as I mostly want to focus on the relationship the reader forms with Levi and I don't want my first story to be pure smut.
