Imagine feeling like your different, like you feel like your different, but you do not know for sure if you are different from the person that sits next to you in class, at school, this is how Mary Porter felt as she joined a new school and a new family as part of the system, or a foster child. But as things become clear for mary with her new friends things that they only thought existed in the depths of dark myths and legends begin to resurface as they realize their world is not all fun and games. Excerpt: A young girl around the age of sixteen exited the school library closing the large wooden doors behind her. as she carried her books her one inch white heels clicked as she walked across the cement. as she walked along the sidewalk, her large necklace barely swaying as she moved. "you know it's dangerous, for a pretty girl like you to walk alone at night." a boy said as he walked a few inches from her. "you know that phrase is better suited for you than me." she responded sharply, the boy put a hand on her pristine white blouse only or her to grab it and twist his arm, oh god he cried out his shoulder an odd shape, jesus what do you bench and eat he asked as she let go having broken and dislocated his shoulder she looked at him with cold glacier blue eyes, i'm not a girl child she said as she picked up her books, the boy struggled to get up but once he did he ran after the girl on for her to stop and take a step to the side and the boy to land on the pavement as she stuck out her foot at the last second, she walked over to him and lifted her foot and put it on his other shoulder. "if i were you i would have learned my lesson the first time, i hope this makes it sink in." she said calmly and coldly as she leaned forward putting her weight on her foot as the boy cried out in pain as she began cracking his other shoulder and broke whatever bone was there.
