Hestia stared in disbelief, not only at the goddess in front of her, but what she held in her hands. The hearth goddess looked back and forth between the baby's smiling face and the mournful expression on his mother's.

"Oh dear!" Hestia exclaimed. "What has Zeus done this time?" 

For staring back at her, clutching a child that was obviously hers, was the goddess Hera.

Tears filled her eyes as she locked eyes with the black-haired boy next to her. She knew what was about to happen. The figure-a woman, with hair made of snakes-raised scimitars dripping with poison above their chests. At the last second, she locked her eyes to his chocolatey brown ones and pushed him to safety. He rolled, once, twice, before laying flat on his belly. He reached out to her, pulling his black blade out and throwing it at the beast, but it wasn't enough. Hoa screamed, tears falling as the blade hit her chest. The poison flowed her bloodstream, killing everything into her body. She thrashed, trying to dislodge it, but she felt herself slipping away. ~•~•~ Hoa is the daughter of Deimos, god of terror, trying to survive with Nico di Angelo, son of Hades: the god of death. What could possibly go wrong? Well... Hoa soon finds herself stuck in an endless maze stuck with this broken boy who can't quite take his eyes off her. The war with the Titan lord is soon to come, as well as something else Hoa doesn't know about. It was suppose to be regulare Winter Solstice. The first one after the second war. The usual boring meeting of the gods that was to take place. The event to happen after was what many gods, satyrs, nymphs and demigods looked forward to. The party that would be hosted on Olympus. All Olympians were together. Some of the demigod children were also in the throne room talking amongst themselves, ironically most argued with the children of the gods their parents were arguing with. Though it all came to a halt when Hestia stood up and walked through a door that appeared in the middle of the throne room. Worried for their sister/aunt the other Olympians followed. The demigods that were also in the room followed suit. They were all greeted by the sight of a simple hearth inside a rustic looking home. A little girl whose form seemed to shift. Though their attention was drawn to the young male who was adding a log to the fire before he noticed them. "Ah, come take a seat. Welcome to the Hearth's Home." Came a warm greeting from the male. Without noticing they all put their weapons away.

The voice spoke "For years you wondered why. Why your supposed loving mother did this to you. To your little family." the voice continued. It seemed to echo all around her. "And now you know." - "Her ring, there's a button, it'll tell Leo she needs help-" A sharp wail echoed around the small stone room around them. "No, he's gone!" She sobbed. "He- he won't answer. I tried, I tried everything. I can't-" - "Persephone it's hurting you, stop using them." "No, they make me stronger." She turned her back to him, the burn in her eyes intensifying as she clawed more of that new feeling, the new power, into her. It seemed to run like lightning through her veins, and Percy watched as the scratches deepened. Her eyes were dark and empty, and Percy felt nothing but fear. - (Takes place during The Mark of Athena, book three of the Heroes of Olympus series) (As always, all characters belong to Rick Riordan, Persephone and her own plotline are purely my creation)

Percy knelt before three of the gods. His hair was messy and his skin pale. His eyes were red rimmed and puffy and his cheeks tear stained. "Percy? What are you doing here so late?" Lady Hera asked. "I have a request." Percy said in a croaky voice. "Anything for the saviour of Olympus." Lady Hestia replied immediately. "I wish to die." When Annabeth breaks Percy's heart and turns everyone against him, he begs Artemis, Hestia and Hera to kill him. Not wanting their favourite hero to die, they give him a new purpose to live. As the hunts new guardian.
