Sixteen year old Eleanor Kennedy Evans has to stay with her Grandparents in Tennessee  for a summer while her parents settle the divorce. Eleanor tries to ignore her feelings and get by the summer with her little brother and sister.  What Eleanor didn't anticipate is the love that blossoms over the summer. When Eleanor  goes back to New York with her dad, she misses Tennessee and all the lovely things about it. 

The thunder roared around us. Rain poured down. My clothes stuck to my skin like glue on paper. "I can't keep doing this!" I screamed at him. "My Mom and Dad are probably signing the divorce papers now and I can't do anything to stop it!" I began to cry and shake uncontrollably.
"Hey hey! I'm sorry Eleanor... I can't help this, us." He gestured to the shrinking space between us. "But I am in love with you!" All at once we were in each other's arms and he kissed me.
