Alec Lightwood was twenty-six, with two published novels, a charming apartment filled with books and artwork, and a complete lack of understanding when it came to diaper technology. He never expected to be the one to fold tiny clothes and puree carrots into mush, all while brainstorming plot twists at 3 a.m. as the baby monitor crackled softly in the background.
Then, six years later, came the diabetes. Eight-year-old Fran hated her insulin pump. Her doctor suggested a supportive tattoo. She also recommended a tattoo artist: Magnus Bane.
