Small children are typically afraid of the dark, or at least, of the monsters that lurk in the darkness. They are afraid of the creatures in their closets or hiding under their beds. They ask for nightlights in their rooms to keep the beasts at bay. Have you ever stopped to ask yourself, why we, as humans, are naturally ingrained to be afraid of the dark? The answer lies not in monsters that hide in the dark, but the humans who can travel through the darkness. They are called; Shadowwalkers.

Realizing she wasn’t going to move, Drake came forward and lifted her up into his arms. The heat from his body was warm to her, but still Maya felt cold. Everything was over. Her father left her. But that was a long time ago.
