Grace Roberts never really got over the crush she had on her childhood best friend. Even when he humiliated her on the first day of their freshman year, Grace has watched as he turned into someone she doesn't recognize and she still can't look away. As much as Grace wants to move on, something keeps pulling her back, and suddenly she wants to know what went wrong.

Elijah Maxwell would do anything to take back what he did to hurt his childhood best friend, but it's far too late. He needs to earn his scholarship to Duke, make it to graduation and get the hell out of Rutherford before he can't. The absolute last thing he needs is for a familiar blonde to come back into his life searching for answers that could get him killed.

Now, mere months away from graduating high school, Elijah has a big problem, and his basketball coach is convinced only one girl can help him solve it.
