On a winter morning, Ivan Kuznetsov's life changed with a call from a neighbor; his dearest friend, Ajax Lebedev, was gone.
Shattered and yearning for connection, Ivan sought solace in Ajax's most cherished possession from younger, brighter days- Hiraeth-II, a novel about a young man trying to live in a society to which he could never belong.
As Ivan skipped through its pages, he was plunged into a profound turmoil, confronting the countless facets of Ajax he had never known. Driven by a strange, compelling intimacy and the need to bridge the final distance to his friend, he lost himself in the narrative.
Yet Ivan was unprepared for the consequence of this act. In reading the book, he would unwittingly alter the destinies of everyone around him-and perhaps, even secure his own demise.
I wrote most of these poems after 10 p.m. when I was feeling either sad, nostalgic, or lonely. It started as just a way to put words to feelings, but it has become so much more than that. I hope you can resonate with some of these poems, like I do, and that these words are there for you when you need them most :)
