The renowned knight of Valecroft had recently been hired by the King as the Princess of Valecroft, Princess Aurelian Lyra, as her new guard. The position of being Princess Lyra's guard is very important, as it is where one guard is needed to keep an eye on Princess Lyra at all times.

It is a very hard j*b which causes many of the most popular and strongest knights not even wanting to be in this position.

Why does Princess Lyra need a personal guard while the rest of the family didn't need this kind of treatment? This was because the citizens hated her. They saw Lyra as a troublemaker, an unsuitable wife or future queen. She's done nothing but live in luxury and never speak to her people, keeping to herself all the time.

Edwin Ashford, the knight who fought and killed men, was trustworthy and brave; it is safe to say he was perfect for the position as the princess's knight. His face was hidden behind the helmet he wore, as well as his armour, which did cause many to raise suspicion and questions about what he looked like, but it had never caused such debates before.

The princess would slowly fall for the knight, whereas the Knight would find someone else more interesting in the Crownspire Citadel (The royal Castle)...
