This is a "Destiel" story.
It's chronologically set halfway through season 15, when the series was suspended due to COVID, and many fans were tempted to create their own endings.
When I started writing this novella, Aileen hadn't returned to life, and honestly, I didn't remember her much. I didn't think they were going to resurrect her.
I never quite understood "Sabriel," but it was a very popular trend.
