Syla suffers night terrors.

Syla Synide readjusting into her new life as a mafia princess and the dangers that come with it. Her siblings are more protective than she could ever imagine and it makes her life a little more difficult when trying to be independent. Syla does something she never thought she'd do and lets her guard down around the intriguing criminology student who keeps to himself.

She tries to balance school life with her new life, when suddenly, she keeps getting messages from a determined stranger and images of herself in public.

Levi Moretti, aspiring detective, doesn't need to flaunt his muscles to feel powerful. His father is a veteran and he trained him to be strong. He also taught Levi that it doesn't matter if you're raised together, everyone is capable of turning on you for a good enough price. No one is exempt from being bought, so he prefers to keep to himself.

But he can't look away from her.

She may look like a wall flower, but she's much more. Levi has no idea of her background, thinking she's just another rich girl, but one untainted by entitlement. He likes her, but doesn't know how to express it.

How will he react after finding out who she is?

"You want me to leave you alone? I'll go. Just say the word, Syla," he breathes against my lips, his dark eyes never leaving mine. His strong arm snakes around my waist, pulling me off the wall I attached myself to.

"Say it."

My head shakes as I trail my hand up his chest to his cheek. He leans into my touch, his arm pulling me in closer. The tension between us is stifling and my heart stutters as I whisper, "Kiss me."

He didn't hesitate, his other hand now on the back of my neck, nudging my lips an inch closer to claim them.

One remaining inch of restraint, snapped.
