The walls are lying.
And so am I.

I'm running on borrowed time and half-truths now-so many lies they've started to feel like skin.

Everyone wants answers.

The girl who was supposed to be dead, the past I buried is clawing its way back to the surface, wearing familiar faces and asking questions that could get us all killed. Or worse.

Every step closer to the truth pushes the man I cant get out of my head further out of reach.
And maybe thats for the best.

Because if I get too close-
If I hesitate-

I won't finish what I was sent here to do.

Too many soldiers don't come back.
Too many reports contradict each other.
And the last member of my squad keeps walking deeper into danger with a calm that makes my blood boil.

She lies like it's second nature.
Bleeds like it's nothing.
And somehow keeps surviving things that should kill her.

I tell myself it's duty.
That this rage is just command.

But if the world thinks it can take her from me-
If it thinks I'll stand still and watch-

Then it deserves what I'll do to it.

And I don't know when I stopped caring why.
