It started with a sudden horrific incident that led to the death of a mother, then shortly after, unexplained suicides and heart attacks rock a bustling South African town, taking hundreds of lives a day. The cause remains unknown, and its initially believed to be severe depression, but the local police captain doesn't believe it is so...
During the first days of these unexplained incidents that lead to many deaths, a strange young girl shows up at the town's orphanage. She could not speak, so very little is known about her origins and past, which makes her even more mysterious and stranger. Even stranger is the device that she wears on her head; it resembles a cage and cloaks her face in complete darkness. How she happened to wear that thing on her head, what her face really looks like, and why she carries such an eerie aura with her is a mystery.
