There was a long-standing rumor, a widely held belief, even, that buried in the old ruins of David Tate's laboratory was an android capable of harnessing the magic held within gemstones. An android did not have the mortal weaknesses humans did when it came to magic. An android could not succumb to addiction, corruption, or death. At least, that was the working theory. F-13 was the only known android with such an ability...should it truly exist.

Six hundred and sixty-six people have died trying to find F-13, so, at the very least, something was killing them.
