(This was the first book i ever wrote, ik it sucks and i apologize for the quality. The second book in this series is wayy better but i dnt have access to it right now. Please PLEASE let me know if it's bad y'all)

After years of bouncing between orphanage to orphanage and foster home to foster home, nine-year-old twins Niko and Ollie finally end up at Playtime Co.-a toy factory with its own underground orphanage.

Niko adored the Smiling Critters even before she met them.

But one day, her mostly-normal life is turned upside down. A few days later, she wakes up to find she's no longer entirely human. With floppy orange dog ears and a long, whip-like purple cat tail, she learns the truth:

She's not safe anymore.

Led to the Smiling Critters for protection, she tries to adjust to her strange new reality.
Some days are almost normal... or at least, as normal as it gets when you live in a supply room below a toy factory.

Until the Hour of Joy happened.

That's when everything spirals.
