Hydra took Peter Parker when he was two.
They erased his name, locked him behind vibranium bars, and raised him in silence and pain until crying felt useless and obedience felt safer. By the age of ten, Peter is quiet and observant.
The Winter Soldier was never meant to notice him.
Never meant to linger in the hallway outside his cell, or shield him from guards, or listen when Peter speaks his name like it means something more than an asset.
Hydra calls him weapons.
But some weapons remember what it means to protect.
And some children refuse to forget hot to hope.
