Lexi Thorne didn't set out to save the galaxy; she just wanted to get paid and keep her ship, the Stardust Vagabond, from falling apart. But when she pulls Atlas-a massive warrior with tattoos that hum with ancient Aether-out of a Federation cage, she triggers a manhunt that spans the stars.

To survive, Lexi relies on the most dysfunctional (and effective) crew in the sector:

* Jax: The hotshot pilot who can fly a freighter through a needle's eye, usually while eating a sandwich and complaining about the paint job.

* Kael: The tech-genius who treats the ship like his own child and can bypass any security system with a paperclip and a prayer.

* Barnaby: The six-legged blue alien dog who speaks twelve languages, all of them fluently sarcastic.

* Korbin: A thief whose primary survival skill is "creative panicking" and deploying industrial-grade cleaning foam at the worst possible moments.

Pursued by the cold-blooded High Admiral Vane, the crew must survive the Magma Drains of Acheron, the Screaming Caves of Despayre, and a final, desperate charge against the Stardust Spire.

With a rag-tag fleet of smugglers at their back and a heavy metal soundtrack blaring through the comms, the crew of the Vagabond is about to show the Federation that you don't need a formal army to win a war-you just need a lot of drills, a bit of Aether, and a complete lack of common sense.
