It was never Gabriela's intention to lose control and end up in some cliché rehab. She just needed a break from her over bearing parents and the unrealistic expectations they held her to. Charlotte was never suppose to fail at suicide, never suppose to live to see the pain she caused the ones she loved the most. Together in the midst of treatment these two find comfort in each other, their new unconventional friendships with misfits and the possibility of new lives after their stay at Shady Palms Rehabilitation Center.
