[Warning, this book may feel a little different from my others and that is by design. The Helldivers lore, while being a gloriously democratic ripoff of other franchises including Halo and Starship Troopers, has its own unique, darker feel to it that you won't really see until you stop exercising your Second Amendment rights and start paying attention to what you're exercising those rights on, which is what I have tried to embody in this particular story here, and hopefully succeeded in. Not quite horror, but there are some things you eventually realize that will definitely make you stagger.]
