This is a re-narration of the story 'Brute' by Richard Selzer from the perspective of the unnamed character 'Brute'. I have focused on the particularly section of the story from when the patient is dragged in by the police to when the patient is dragged away by the police after the doctor sutures his wound.
This story will primarily be an attempt to project what might have been felt by the the nameless patient 'Brute' with some added backstory to appeal more to his humane side.
This story contains some graphic injury detail as well as descriptions of the patient, a Black man, that are racist, racialising and insensitive
