After the fall of Grand Mother Silk and the retrieval of Lace, Hornet begins to keep a journal that follows Pharloom as it rises from the ashes of a now dead goddess. In keeping track of progress and efforts, she begins to keep track of her silk companion who she allows to stay with in Bellhart. What will become of Pharloom, and the daughters from different kingdoms?
