Together at Last

"You know I like you right." I finally confess to River but mostly to myself.
"No, no you don't, I-I mean you can't!" He stutters.
"I do. Why do you think I got the teacher to get you to tutor me?" I say to him in a 'duh' kind of tone.

Lucas Lopez is the quarterback for the school. He's not terrible at school just not his favorite thing to waste his time on. His home life is okay. With a younger brother that gets all of his parent's attention when they aren't busy with the family business and an older sister away at college only ever visits for summer and winter breaks. He's known his two best friends since 3rd grade, they're basically inseparable.

River Jacksons is the quiet kid at get bullied for just walking in the hallways at school. His two best friends Sophie and Nick. Him and Sophie have been friends since 7th grade, and they became friends with Nick when he started at their school in 8th grade. Rivers home life isn't really the best with a homophobic asshole of a stepfather and a mother that doesn't really care to throw him out. Him and his sister don't get along very well, but you can tell they love each other.
