"Draco,"

I say quietly, forcing the words past my throat.

"We're just friends."

The lie rolls bitterly off my tongue.

"Just friends...?"

He mimics, amusement curling through his voice. His breath brushes my ear, and I hate how my body reacted before my mind could stop it.

"Yes,"

I whisper way too quickly.

He laughs under his breath, one hand bracing against the wall beside my head, the other settling low on my hip like it belonged there.

He leans in, lips grazing the shell of my ear.

"If I didn't know any better,"

He says softly,

"Bells...l'd think you were lying to me."
