The Girl on the Ferry

Wisconsin 1910:
Esther Lewellen had lived a varied, successful life and by the age of Twenty-Eight was known in literary circles as an artist with words. She had counted herself one of the lucky ones to rise above her poverty-stricken upbringing with a beautiful family. Until tragedy struck and she lost everyone who was dear to her in one shocking night.
Now on her way to a new life in Wisconsin she encounters a sassy, haunted orphan girl calling herself "Ennie" on the ferry. She vows to protect her from those after her, and give her some peace, promises to find her a home. A "complete" home with two parents and other children her own age.
What neither of them expect is to help each other heal and the quick bond that grows between them. Could the other be just what they were missing?

Modern Day:
Elizabeth had suffered a severe loss and was searching. Searching for something, anything that would make the pain stop. When her estranged aunt invites her to spend the Holidays with her at her small farm in Wisconsin, she can't resist the urge and temptation of leaving everything behind and getting to know the woman she had adored as a child. What she finds at the farm fulfills something she had thought impossible, a woman's journey of healing over a hundred years ago helping start her own journey of healing.
