Her destiny was written in darkness.
In a world where shadows breathe, whisper, and kill, Nyra Valoch has spent her life hiding from the power coiled beneath her skin. But when an ancient god awakens and the veil between realms begins to tear, her dormant magic erupts-marking her as the prophesied Shadow Queen, a ruler destined either to save her realm or drown it in eternal night.
Hunted by kingdoms, worshipped by monsters, Nyra is forced into an uneasy alliance with Cyrus Draven and Kael, brooding warriors bound to the very shadows she commands. Their past is carved in blood and betrayal, and their allegiance shifts like smoke. Yet the deeper their journey pulls them into forbidden lands and forgotten myths, the harder it becomes to ignore the pull between them-dangerous, forbidden, and inevitable.
As gods rise, empires crumble, and the darkness inside her hungers for release, Nyra must choose:
embrace the monster she fears... or become the queen her world needs.
But every shadow has a price.
And the war for her crown has already begun.

"She accepted the darkness not as punishment, but as home." 🌸🌸🌸 Anya has a father and three brothers. But they don't really care about her-they're just family by name. After Anya's mother died giving birth to her, the blame for her death was placed on Anya. Since then, the only things she has received from her father and brothers are blame, disrespect, ignorance, abusive words, and bullying-especially from her two elder brothers. They call her unlucky, a bad omen, a symbol of misfortune. They hate her. And over time, Anya has come to accept all of it. She has started to believe it herself-that she is cursed, that she brings bad luck. Anya is just 16 years old, but she's not like other girls her age. She has never lived a normal childhood-no fun, no laughter, no affection. Her whole life has revolved around just one thing: studying. Whether in school or locked inside her four-walled room, that's all she's ever known. She doesn't like facing her family. Deep inside, she believes she's the reason they're always upset, that her presence is a burden. She truly thinks she's not good enough to live under the same roof with them. Now, she's made a decision: after she turns 18, she will leave. Not to run away-but to protect them from herself. But what will happen when her family finds out what she's planning? Will they feel relief-or regret? Do they truly hate her-or have they just never tried to understand her? What will happen if they realize they were wrong to blame a child for something she never caused? What if they ask for forgiveness and beg her to stay? Will she stay? Or will she finally choose herself-for the first time in her life?

. On the day her twin sister "died," or that what she thought everything she knew shattered. She remembered the scream, the fall, the blood-and then the world changed. In the chaos, no one asked her what really happened. They didn't care to hear her version. Her parents, once the warmth in her world, turned cold overnight. The brothers who loved her most began to look at her like a monster. Whispers filled the house. Accusations behind closed doors. She was blamed, judged, and punished-not by strangers, but by her own blood. And then, without warning, they sent her away. A boarding school in another country, they said, as if it were for her own good. But it wasn't a school-it was a cage dressed in discipline. Far from home, far from love, she entered a place no child should ever be. Hidden behind iron gates and smiling lies, that school was a breeding ground for cruelty. Every corner held secrets. Every night was a nightmare. And no one ever came looking for her. Not a single letter. Not a single call. They forgot her- Years passed. . And then came the call. Her family wanted her to return. As if they still had the right to call her back. But the girl who left never came back-not really. What returns now is someone colder, quieter, sharper. She tells herself she feels nothing for them. That she's learned to live without love. That hatred is easier than hope. But buried beneath the years and pain, there is still a small voice inside her-a child's voice-aching to be believed, to be seen, to be forgiven for a crime she never committed. Will her family finally face what they've done? And when the truth comes out-will it set her free, or break her all over again?

I am what most would later call a War's Child. A child born in the first few years of the civil war that wreaked havoc upon Daquan for twenty years. But mostly, I'm a villager. One of the people that live in the villages, starving and fighting against death at every turn. Yet, I'm none too pleased to be pulled from my familiar life only to be thrown into the life of the Military Academy of Daqu. This is the first time I don't have to worry about having enough food to last the day, about freezing to death or being attacked while I'm sleeping. I'm certainly not the King's number one fan, but if I'm given a chance to change the future and fight for those who're suffering out there... I will. Even if it means putting up with stupid city people who don't believe the war is that bad. I'm glad to help, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to because I've considered smashing my head against the wall more than once, believe me. ~ Cali Rayan is a villager given the chance to have a high role in the war. Training is hard, but even harder is to accept that friendship and love are worth the risk of a broken heart.
