Hawkins already knows what it's like to survive monsters.

She was raised in the same room as eleven. Trained in the same silence, and taught that power is something you hide if you want to live. Where eleven learned to fight outward, she learned to hold everything in- strength, fear, and the ache of wanting something normal.

He notices things he shouldn't: the way she flinches at raised voices, the way her power hums just beneath her skin, the way she looks at Hawkins like she's still deciding whether it's safe.

She doesn't trust easily.
He loves to hard.
And somewhere between monsters, mall lights and moments that linger a second too long, something dangerous begins to grow.

Not the kind that opens gates.
The kind that makes you stay.
