Amaris Ja'dore Sink was a happy girl, bookworm, her parents always got mad at her for not playing sports said she was wasting time in books. She ignored them until one day she woke up and they were gone nowhere to be found she searched everywhere but she couldn't find them asked people nothing..... she had nothing else to do but leave her home she couldn't pay so she found a alleyway to stay. She always got bullied for her hearing aids but once her bullies noticed she had a smell on her they bullied her way more. Tahaad Pettiford and his friends noticed the girl at school all by herself no friends just her book duffel bag and backpack all alone by a table under a tree. One day they leave basketball practice and on the way home they see her in the alleyway they wanted to understand why she was there they wanted to help. During the weekend Tahaad and his mom go to the alleyway he last seen her and they listen to her story and she ends up living with them. Tahaad and Amaris start to form a sibling relationship and Tahaad feels the need to protect her so when a boy that hangs with her bullies starts talking to her he is the first to tell her but the boy doesn't have any intentions to hurt her...
