Autumn Valerie doesn't believe love is a necessity. As an economics undergrad from Calgary, she believes in logic, plans, and knowing exactly where she's headed. An exchange program in Milan is supposed to be temporary-a line on her résumé, nothing more. She doesn't expect to fall in love with the city, its quiet beauty, or the life she begins to build there. Aster Matteo has already fallen in love with history, architecture, and the stories cities carry. Born in Tuscany and studying architectural history in Milan, he knows how to appreciate things that last. What he doesn't know is how to satisfy a family eager for him to settle down... until a convenient arrangement presents itself. A fake relationship. No expectations. An expiration date. What begins as a simple agreement slowly turns into shared coffees, autumn walks, unspoken truths, and a connection neither of them planned for. As the semester draws to an end and reality presses in, Autumn and Aster must decide whether love is something you can calculate-or something you risk everything for. Set against the golden streets of Milan, Autumn in Milan is a soft, slow-burning romance about ambition, belonging, and the kind of love that feels like coming home.

Valeria didn't rush. She never did. Inez was pinned beneath her, wrist locked overhead, the hold precise and impersonal. Not pain. Control. Inez scoffed anyway. "That's it?" she sneered. "I've had tutors scarier than you." Valeria said nothing. The silence pressed in. "You don't scare me," Inez added, louder. Brattier. "You just-" "Enough." One word. Flat. Final. Valeria lifted Inez's chin with two fingers, detached as a correction. "Look at me," she said coolly. "If you're going to embarrass yourself, do it properly." Inez laughed, brittle. "You think this makes you powerful?" "I don't think," Valeria replied. "I decide." Her gaze never wavered. "You provoke because it's the last control you have." "I don't belong to you," Inez snapped. Valeria leaned in, voice razor-thin. "You are my wife. You belong to consequences." She released her grip. "Say it." "No." Valeria waited. The quiet broke Inez, she hated being ignored. "...I'll behave, I'll be a good girl" Inez muttered. "Specify." Inez swallowed hard. "...I'll be your good girl" Valeria stepped back, already distant. "Good," she said. "Remember why." #1 older women-13th February (FAST PACE BOOK)
