Death Card

John, a desperate father chasing money to support his daughter, is drawn into a grotesque underground gambling ring where fate is enforced with blood and bone. Each game is rigged, each loss paid in flesh, and each victory buys survival temporarily. After surviving his first encounter with a sadistic jester through quick thinking rather than luck, John finds himself addicted not just to the money, but to the thrill of cheating death itself. Invited back into the game, he learns the rules are crueler than before: past losses compound, the opponents change faces but not intent, and fate always collects its due. As John sacrifices pieces of himself to stay in the game, he's forced to confront how much of his humanity he's willing to lose and whether survival at this cost is really winning at all.
