38 has been a domestic almost as long as he can remember. He's raised two children as a single father, and he uses what little money the job makes to save for their education. He's forgotten his name and he's long since forsaken any fantasies of romance and marrying out of the system. And now, 38 is dying.

Faced with his own mortality and the fragile future of his son and daughter, 38 finds himself entangled with a new client: a beautiful and wealthy woman who remembers his mother--and the person that he used to be.
