A Byler story for those who need realism, not just fantasy.
Following directly after their last DND game, Mike realizes Will is carrying a deep pain at his side. He is slowly pulling back, but is it from everybody? Or just him? He attempts to find a way to get just a moment alone with him, but Mrs. Wheeler has another suggestion. Mike takes the opportunity to figure Will out, but he could never have seen what was coming. Everything falls into place; everything begins to make sense. Does this mean what he had with El was never real?
This fanfic is for those who need the comfort, the realization, and the happy ending. It leans heavily into both Will, and Mike's thoughts and emotions during these lifechanging moments.
