Charlie had high hopes for his sophomore year. He was going to start over, get involved, put his past behind him, face his fears, and start over with a new outlook and even a new wardrobe.
His past caught up with him, and by the end of the year, he was still struggling with school and relationships while being consumed by guilt.
Then a stranger showed up and completely distracted him, throwing everything off balance.
The story begins by following 5-year-old Charlie on two important days in 1988. Then we see him again as a teenager and find out who he has become.
