Darry, Pony and I walked into the jewelry store. If you’re wondering what I’m doing here, I’m buying an engagement for Jackie. Pony & Darry were keeping themselves busy by looking at watches. Pony tried on this gold watch. “How do I look? Tuff looking, right!?” he made a funny pose. “Ya look like a Soc!” I chuckled. As I looked around I then found the best ring. It was gold with a little heart diamond. I quickly flagged some guy to let me see it. “Do you have a price?” He gave me the tag and the ring. “$600.00” I shouted a little too loud then I should have. “I mean wow it’s a. It’s a bit much for a ring.” He then went on about how it’s from volcanic rock or some crap. “Will you do me a solid of reserving this?” He nodded. I then began to walk out happy with my choice. The thing that bugged me was Pony and his constant whining. “Sodaaaaa, I’m hungry!” After I got a headache I got him a bite. I got him a burger and fries, and three cokes. After he was done

I walk into the house, drunk, banged up, and late for curfew. It was a month after my parents died, I was fourteen and just came back from a wild party. "Basil Leaf Curtis, where have you been?" Darry screamed through out the house. "Dar, I was just having fun," I slurred, laughing a little at the end then going to walk in and falling on my ass. "Basil, were you at another party?" He screamed looking into my glazed eyes. "No, and if I was I ain't stupid enough to tell you," I laughed. "You know what if you're going to act like this then you can just do us all a favor and get our, we'll be better off without you!" He screamed showing me the door. I ran upstairs grabbing my stuff, I looked at Sodapop and Ponyboy kissing both of their heads, I walked out of the room slightly crying. Then I stormed downstairs, when Darry kicked me out I sobered up fast. I looked at him dead in the eyes yelling, "I HATE YOU DARREL CURTIS! I FUCKING HATE YOU!" As I yelled that I saw something in his eyes, I've never seen before, it looked like guilt, he opened up his mouth but, I ran out of the house and never looked back.Complete

And I very much wanted to take the plunge and drown in them. Obviously, it was not what she waited for me to say at that moment and whatever connection had began was just as quickly DISconnected , because she gave me, what I'm assuming was supposed to be a death glare, but really she just managed to look cute with her little nose scrunched up. This was the first time I went to a mental institution because it's also the year I first tried to kill myself. 15 the first time I smoked meth, took a bump of cocaine, shot myself up with heroine. This was the first time I got sent to rehab, it didn't work and I came out worse. I was 16 when I tried to commit three times in the same year, the last time I got my heart to stop for 30 seconds. That year was also the first time I snorted Hydrocodone, getting me started in opiates, I experimented with Xanax and liked it. And I was a month from 17 when I got sober. - "Fuck you." I snap.
