Nova's life starts to change when a witch tells her aunt Sage that Nova might have her mom's powers.
Not long after, a strange family moves in on their road. Nova meets Silas, and right away there is tension she does not understand.
Things start happening that Nova cannot explain. She begins sleepwalking and talking to someone she cannot see. She feels pulled toward the cove and toward secrets no one is telling her.
As she gets closer to the truth, everything gets more dangerous.
On her eighteenth birthday, Nova finds out what she really is. She learns she is being hunted and that she cannot stay where she is anymore
She is forced to leave with the people she loves, tested by her powers, and pushed into her first real fight. On the road, she comes face to face with a hunter who looks just like her.
