After another agonizing year of waiting, Emilia White finally finds herself at that time of year again; the time of year when the grass is riper, the nights are longer, skin gets tanner and life just gets that much better.

When she returns to her beloved childhood holiday destination, Westward Bay, for the summer, things are slightly different than the previous seventeen years; Emilia has finally finished school and her best friend Azure will be joining her and her family for the holidays.

But then there's Luke. The seventeen-year-old son of close family friends. Emilia soon learns that this dimple smiled boy, whom she'd spent every summer with from as long as she can remember, has done a lot of growing up in the past year: be it the fact that he dropped out of college and joined a band, or that he now has a lip piercing equipped with a punk rock quirk and friends who will be tagging along for the summer.

A lot can change in a year.

And a lot can happen with one whole summer together.
