In 1999 Detroit, a young man in his late teens struggles to build a stable life as financial pressure and repeated failures close in. Desperate for a fresh start, he decides to return to his hometown in Mexico before Día de los Muertos, hoping to reclaim a sense of meaning he once had.

But his journey through Northern Michigan takes a catastrophic turn.

Stranded in a forest that defies explanation, he uncovers a hidden apocalypse lurking in plain sight. The roads vanish. Escape becomes impossible. And the deeper he ventures into the trees, the more he realizes the world he left behind might already be gone.
