After a long stretch of silence, Mike comes back to Hawkins carrying more than a suitcase-regret, unfinished apologies, and everything he never said. Will has built a new life in the meantime, new friends and new armor, determined not to let old wounds reopen. But the moment they're in the same town again, the past starts pressing in-along with the unsettling question of whether the mysteries Hawkins created were ever truly sealed.
As they chase answers they're not sure they want, they stumble through jealousy, guilt, and the fear of losing each other all over again. Friendship turns into something deeper, and far more dangerous- the kind of relationship that forces them to be honest at last.

Tension, yearning, real life threatening danger, and slow burn goodness 🔥 Will has been mostly honest about himself to everyone, but he still has one secret. Mike's world is spinning because, for once, he is not oblivious, and Will was pretty obvious about who his crush was, and the dots are finally connecting for Mike but are they connecting too late? And will Mike survive long enough to find out? The story is mostly using canon stuff from the show, but I've changed a lot from season 5 vol 2 from chapter 7 onwards. Its basically an alternate ending where Mike and Will actually admit their feelings, and byler happens😁 inspired by some of the cool theories I wish we got in season 5. I don't own any of the characters or the original story.

Will has just moved in with Mike, and the tension that's come with it is undeniable. While Mike is initially just glad to have his old relationship with his childhood best friend back, the line between platonic and something more grows blurrier and blurrier, until it seems that everyone, except Mike, can see the clear chemistry between them that's always gone overlooked. That is, until a disregarded painting is finally addressed. Notes: the characters in this story are about 16, and while I have written some light smut, I do believe it is still age appropriate and age accurate.
