The Hidden History | Stranger Things | A Stonathan AU

*Warning: This story takes place mostly after the show has ended. There are flashbacks from the timeframe of the show and before. The main storyline from the show is mostly canon, however I have changed some things about the ending, mostly that Byler is canon and El lived. However, this story is centered on Jonathan and Steve. Their storyline is a major au. This story is basically a modern Stonathan version of the aftermath of the show. This AU is something I've had in my head for many years at this point and I finally decided to write it out. I tend to hyperfixate and go all in for AUs. I hope you guys enjoy it.

​Steve Harrington and Jonathan Byers were inseparable until the summer of 2020. One afternoon of panic and a few cruel words turned a lifelong love into a cold, public distance.
