All It Takes Are Guts

After fighting a gruesome wave of hordes of undead, Siegmund Brandt, a Prussian sapper, sat near the mausoleum on a wooden log, scraping off the dirt and filth that was stuck on his axe from the battle that took place just hours ago.

His routine was interrupted by an unexpected sound of a french curse word that was heard from the gates to the cemetary. A squad of mixed nations, ranging from Swedes to Poles, were marching inside. Siegmund didn't pay the newcomers any attention, used to the arrivals of new troops everyday. Sighing, he glanced at the squad and somehow, at the right moment, locked eyes with a Frenchman, who too, was glancing over his shoulders at Brandt.

Siegmund was a bit taken aback but recovered quickly and resumed attending to his axe, that was, until a french infantry loudly called for one of their sappers, whom Siegmund identified as the man he made eye contact with: "SIR VICTOR CHAPPUIS-" Ah, so that was the lad's name.

Uninterested, Siegmund turned his attention back to his work, unbeknown of the piercing blue eyes set on him. Victor's eyes lit up as he watched the Prussian sit in the shadows. The night grows cold, the Blighted roar in the distance and the tension between both the Prussian and the Frenchman rises.
