​He took her hand, guiding it toward his chest. Y/N tried to pull away, but he was firm. He pressed her palm flat against the fabric of his shirt, right over the tattooed eyes of her own likeness.

​He reached out, his fingers trembling as he tucked a loose strand of hair behind her ear. The gesture was so profoundly affectionate and gentle that it hurt. "I am a man of darkness, Y/N. My hands are stained. My soul is heavy. But this-" he pressed her hand over his heart, "-this is the only part of me that is pure. Because it's you."
