The Beginning

Maddie has always been part of them.

Since scraped knees and sandbox summers, it's been Maddie, Scott, and Stiles inseparable. Until the night everything changes. The night Scott sneaks out with Stiles and doesn't come back the same. The night Maddie is left behind.

After that, secrets start piling up. Scott grows distant. Stiles avoids her questions. They swear nothing is wrong, that she's inhabiting things, but Maddie knows better. She notices the way Scott flinches at loud noises , the way his eyes seem sharper in the dark, the way her best friends slowly begin to disappear from her life.

they say it's for her own good. That it's if she doesn't know.

But Maddie has never been the kind of girl who stays in the dark.

As Beacon Hills becomes more dangerous and whispers of something wild lurking in the woods grow louder, Maddie starts to realize the truth might be closer than she thinks, and that the night Scott was bitten didn't just change him.

It changed her too.
