Victoria Black was never meant to exist.

A red-haired anomaly born into the infamous House of Black, Victoria shattered tradition when she became the first-and only-member of her family to be sorted into Hufflepuff in 1908. It was there, in her first year at Hogwarts, that she met a shy, kind-hearted boy named Newt Scamander, who shared her year.

By 1910, their friendship had deepened into something more, and in 1911, during their fourth year, Newt and Victoria began dating. For a time, everything felt simple.

That changed in 1913.

In their sixth year, Victoria accidentally cast a spell that severely injured two students. To protect her, Newt took the blame-and paid the price. He was expelled from Hogwarts, allowing Victoria to remain and complete her final two years.

The fallout destroyed them.

They broke up that same year, and after graduating, Victoria left Britain behind. She moved to America and became an Auror for MACUSA, determined to build a life of her own. But by 1926, her career had fallen apart, and she found herself demoted to the Wand Permit Office, working alongside her closest friend, Porpentina "Tina" Goldstein.

Fate, however, wasn't finished with her.

That same year, Victoria Black comes face to face with the boy she once loved-the man Newt Scamander has become-and the past she never truly escaped.
