It has been 50 years since the defeat King Galbatorix,and Murtugh and his Blood Red dragon Thorn have been living in the unmapped wilderness at the top of the Spine Mountains. Murtugh has noticed that Thorn has been wistful as of late and he finds out that Thorn wants to have a mate.Upon finding this out Murtugh packs up all his belongings and tells Thorne that if he wants to find a female to be his mate then Thorn deserves to have one. They set off on their Trek across Alagaesia to get to Eragon's "Dragon Mountain" to find Thorn a Mate. Nothing goes as planned however, Thorn forces Murtugh to interact with his own kind along the way.Then once they reach the Hadarac Desert they come across a slaver who has "very rare stock" as he puts it. What "his rare stock" is really,is the last known members of a race known as the Dragon Assistants they are shifters and distant cousins of the werecat race. Because of Galbatorix's rise to power they have hidden themselves as humans and animals.The few the slaver have managed to capture where children in their animal forms,The spell that has hidden there race for so long is fading and they are starting to shift back and forth from animal to human looking.Murtugh comes across this slaver and believes the man is selling trained animals to cheat people and he is sickened by the man's callousness towards his slaves.He is about to leave when a small female wolf is brought up for sale. something about her makes him want her to be close to him.....As if in a dream he buys her and as she looks at him he feels a spark....she follows him as if she was a trained dog and without knowing it everything they both have know has changed.......*im sorry i suck at writing these but please just give it a chance...fans of the Inheritance series will enjoy it*
